    Candidates are encouraged to download the forms needed from this website however, if you are unable to download the documents, a packet can be picked up (by appointment) or a packet can be mailed to you.  To request a packet be mailed or to schedule an appointment for pick up, call the Elections Division at 559-675-7720.

    Forms below do not constitute all documents necessary for your candidacy. Certain documents must be issued directly from the County Clerk’s office during your initial and subsequent appointments.


    Follow the steps below:

    STEP 1

    Download forms for:

    Candidates for County Office

    Candidates for City Office

    Candidates for School Board Office

    Candidates for Special District Office

     


    STEP 2
    Complete and email the Candidate Worksheet to: [email protected].
    If you are unable to return forms by email, you can do so by mail, fax or by appointment.

    STEP 3
    Elections Division staff will contact you by phone to go over the process, deadlines, forms and fees required.

    STEP 4
    Return all required forms via email to: [email protected].
    If you are unable to return forms by email, you can do so by mail, fax or by appointment.
    Elections Division staff will review your documents and will contact you to advise you of your status and to schedule your appointment(s).

    STEP 5
    When you arrive for final appointment please bring all original documents and fees.
    Make checks payable to Madera County Clerk-Recorder.

    More than one appointment may be necessary to complete your filings and appointments are limited to 15 appointments per day.
    Each appointment will be limited to 30 minutes so please be sure to have all original documents in order when presented.

    Extended Nomination/Declaration of Candidacy Period (applies only if Incumbent fails to file by August 12)

    Vote by Mail Ballots mailed to all active registered voters in Madera County

    All Exterior Drive Up/Walk Up Official Ballot Drop Boxes Open

    October 29, 2022 to November 7, 2022
    Two 11-Day Vote Centers open – will be open daily from 8am to 5pm

    November 5, 2022 to November 7, 2022
    Remaining 4-Day Vote Centers open – will be open daily from 8am to 5pm

    November 8, 2022
    Election Day – All Vote Centers will be open from 7am until 8pm.
    All exterior Drive Up/Walk Up Official Ballot Drop Boxes will be locked promptly at 8pm.
